The role of a trade show magician / presenter is to:
- Stop and engage show attendees walking down the aisle.
- Deliver a professional, entertaining, and informative presentation about your
company and its products and/or services.
- Pre-qualify the crowd for your sales force.
- Send the gathered crowd to a registration area for lead capture and a
small trade show
giveaway.
Two types of presentations:
- Aisle
Presentation - In this situation, Jonathan is staged
on a corner of the booth near the busiest aisle(s), usually on the side where two main show aisles
converge. I start with no audience and build a crowd from scratch every 30 minutes during the show
day. Each presentation is approximately 8 to 10 minutes long repeated every 30 minutes.

Theater
Presentation - In this scenario, which
generally takes place in a larger exhibit, a small stage or platform is constructed and placed in the
exhibit facing the main aisle. Sometimes the exhibitor provides chairs for the show which we have
filled before the presentation starts with the help of professional crowd gatherers. The tricks
that I use for this situation tend to be stage oriented. Each presentation is approximately 20
minutes long usually followed with a PowerPoint presentation.
